The Benefits of Embracing Your Partners Style
I see style battles between partners all the time and it is to be expected. Well, it’s time to embrace your partners style and understand that it will enhance your new home.
1. Makes your home more unique
Even though you love modern white marbles, emerald velvets and gold accessories doesn’t mean there isn’t room for his traditional style and carved wood and ornate accents. Not only is there room for it but it will make your home unique, warm and inviting for everyone.
Opposing styles isn’t the enemy it’s opposing the other persons style that is. Today with so many beautiful inspiration images it’s too each to say “I want that” but who wants exactly what that person has? Let’s get creative! The best way to boost creativity is through creative challenges and nothing is more challenging that satisfying everyone. As a seasoned interior designer it’s my job to help blend your styles and help create solutions and compromises so that everyone wins.
2. Saves time and money
You will probably come to a design meeting with very different ideas of your own style and come out with a clear understanding of what your new joint style is. Once we figure out your new joint style, the design process becomes smooth like butter.
A smooth design process makes for saving time, saving money and having more energy for new channels of creativity. The more conflicting opinions the more time your designer spends on options and more time you spend battling. Wasting your time and money. The longer it takes to make decisions not only can it cost more design time, it will also delay the construction time which can really drain the bank.
3. Makes the process fun and efficient
Before you get started on your design journey, sit down with your partner and go over images of what you like and why. You will be surprised at how quickly you will start to agree and see eye to eye. This will make your design meeting more fun and more productive. If you don’t start to see eye to eye, you will at least be more tuned in to your partners wants so that your designer can help get you to that happy place faster.
